This is a simple but authentic Italian Pomodoro pizza sauce recipe made with garlic, basil, and olive oil.
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 1 cup of chopped onion
- Fresh Basil
- 2 cans of crushed tomatoes
- Salt & pepper
Heat the oil on low heat until simmering then add the crushed garlic and chopped onion. Stir for about 5 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes, basil, salt and pepper.
Cook on medium heat until the sauce has thickened for about 25 minutes. Cooking longer can add more flavor, but if you’re in a rush 25 minutes will do.
